MMC has recently completed the design, fabrication and trial assembly of a custom split clump weight system for subsea cable stabilisation works.
The units were manufactured using high-density concrete at approximately 3,000 kg/m³, providing the required submerged mass while keeping the footprint practical for offshore handling and deployment.
A key part of the scope was the design and fabrication of a custom ROV-operated lifting frame, allowing the split clump weights to be deployed diverless subsea. The frame was developed to improve installation efficiency, reduce diver intervention, and provide controlled placement of the clump weights in the subsea environment.
This project combined MMC’s in-house capability across:
• High-density concrete mix design and casting
• Custom subsea clump weight manufacture
• Offshore lifting and handling design
• ROV-friendly deployment tooling
• Marine project logistics and QA/QC
Proud to support Bhagwan Marine, Chevron and Ventia with a practical subsea stabilisation solution built for offshore conditions.
